Because there was another Meteor (EG97) was still in the air that was very low on fuel it was decided to land this aircraft alongside the EG81 (as this aircraft was at the extreme left of the runway). Miscommunication caused the pilot to receive the wrong message and he landing to the extreme left of the runway. When he saw EG81 straight ahead of him, he made sudden manoeuvre which caused the nosewheel to retract and he just missed EG81. EG81 was not repaired

In accordance with the book from Col Avi J.Jacobs "Belgian Air Force Wings - The graduated pilots since 1946" :
The pilot of the EG76 who crashed that 20th of january 1955 was Theo Blomme (Promotion 125)
