In order to replace eight ageing liaison aircraft (5x Fairchild Merlin IIIA and 3x Hawker Siddeley HS748) four Embraer regional were purchase in two different types. The ERJ135 seats 37 passengers and the ERJ145 can transport 50 passengers. They are primarely used for liaison flights within Europe.

  • 020601: officially handed over to Belgian Air Force
  • 040601: delivered Melsbroek (call-sign 'BAF600')
  • 040601: taken on charge by 15 Wing - 21 Squadron
  • 030701: damage to one of the engines after a birdstrike in Ankara (Turkey)
  • 000506: first noted with Belgian Defence logoon the tail instead of the Belgian flag
  • 040410: first noted with new tail decoration (large Defence logo on blue background)
  • 290811: tt 5523 hrs
  • current: active with Liaison & Long Haul Flight (LLHF), Melsbroek
