During the evaluationproces to find a replacement for the De Havilland DH82 Tiger Moth the Belgian Air Force acquired two Chipmunks. Although the Stampe-Vertongen SV4b was selected, both aircraft remained in service for several years before being sold on the civil market.

  • 190970: Crash at Seppe (Netherlands). During an inverted flight, the pilot didn't manage to get the aircraft back into the normal position, the engine stopped, because the carburator was not suited for inverted flight, and the aircraft crashed. Both occupants were severely injured.
  • 200172: Cancelled as OO-PHS
